I know this probably sounds dumb and I don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but I really want to help my boyfriend recover his account

Hi, I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to ask because I honestly don’t really understand how any of this stuff works, but I’m trying to help my boyfriend with his League of Legends account and I thought maybe someone here might know what to do.

A few years ago, somehow the email connected to his account got changed. He can still log into the account with his username and play normally every day, and his phone number is still connected to it in the game, but when he tries to change the email, it says it’s sending a verification code to an address starting with a sequence of letters which he doesn’t recognize at all.

The account is really old, so he doesn’t remember what the original email was anymore.

I know this probably isn’t that deep, and he’s kind of accepted it already, but this account genuinely means a lot to him. It’s a huge part of his life growing up. I’m just sad about it xd

I actually already tried sending a Riot support ticket for this a few months ago, but nothing really came from it, so I’m trying again now and hoping maybe there’s something I’m missing or some better way to approach it.

I just want to help him get it properly back and safe again if there’s any way to do that.

Does Riot usually help in situations like this if the person still actively uses the account? Does having the linked phone number help prove ownership? And what kind of information would help most in a support ticket?

Again, sorry if this isn’t the right place or if I sound clueless. I really am clueless about this stuff. It would genuinely mean so much to me if I could help fix this for him.
