A reminder that art and community are important
I am disabled from Ling Covid in a way that really limits my ability to be around other people in public. One of the things I really wish I could do is attend protests, but that’s just not realistic for me.
Last night, I saw David Byrne perform. Luckily, it was in one of the most disabled accommodating venues I’ve found post covid. First of all, I highly recommend seeing him live. His show is so theatrical that even if you just know the Talking Heads hits, you are going to still enjoy it.
But, more importantly, I was reminded that art, joy and a community IRL of people who care about humanity are resistance. Hope is resistance. And the feeling in the crowd last night was beautiful.
I hope those of you who are struggling with everything going on, can find a few moment like that.
