please give me advice on whether i should reach out to an old friend i miss

for some context, i 21/F was friends with this girl 22/F back in highschool and we lost touch in first year of university. it didn’t have anything to do with moving out of state. the last time we spoke we had a weird interaction because we had planned on going to a concert and she cancelled on me because of some family developments (nothing particularly negative). this interaction was weird because she waited for me to reimburse her for the ticket and I took a while as i was busy and i think she misunderstood. we have not talked ever since. i’ve always wondered if she cancelled this concert because she was planning on cutting me off, or if the last interaction left a bad taste in her mouth. additionally, in highschool my boyfriend at the time had made some weird comments comparing us two, which i feel made me almost resent her during our friendship, which is why i didn’t push for the friendship when i knew we were drifting. nevertheless, im now in my last year of university and we have not spoken and she has removed me on all socials. to this day im not sure if the situation i just explained put her off or if there was something else i did that upset her that she chose not to confront me about, but i find myself constantly thinking about her. i feel like i can’t enjoy any of my other friendships lately because i am constantly comparing it to the one i had with her. ive been considering reaching out to her for a while now but have not followed through as my ego gets in the way and i can only imagine the screenshot of my text being sent and used as gossip, “omg look who just texted me”, then again, it could go either way, as i don’t know why we drifted and if she feels the same way. i would love some advice on whether i should reach out or let the past stay in the past.
