Classic Narcissist
There's an acronym for the 9 signs of narcissism: "SPECIAL ME."
It stands for:
Sense of self-importance, Preoccupation with power/success, Entitled, Can only associate with special people, Interpersonally exploitative, Arrogant, Lack empathy, Must be admired, Envious.
Ethan fits every one of those.
He can't change his persoality--and that's why all the coaching and personal training will not hold. We know he's seen doctors, a nutritionist, a dietician, gone into therapy, had pastoral counseling. As a child his parents sent him to some sort of fat camp; he took off 60 pounds and put it back on. By his own statements, in the past five years he's taken off more than 100 pounds and put it back on FIVE TIMES.
He spent three weeks being trained to lose weight by Jocko and his group. Didnt take. He's gone to two Muster conferences with Navy Seals teaching discipline and leadership. Didn't take. He went to The Arnold to associate with body builders. Changed nothing.
He has no consistency. He wants people to lose weight for him, somehow. He deludes himself and his fans.
It's good that he finally moved away from his parents (at age 27!). But a change of location isn't going to change his personality.
I wish him well--truly. He needs intensive therapy and medical supervision. But he doesn't think that way. He thinks of himself as a handomse attractive brilliant person--someone everyone must admire. Such a person doesn't need help. He'll seek help for a while, but then discard it. (His dietician's plan for him of eating mostly vegetables lasted three days.)
His chances for success? Low. I think PeachFit will be done with him within thee months.
