High triglycerides

Hi there comunity, english is not my native langage so I'll try my best to be clear, specially in a topic like this. I'll express the numbers on mmol/L, as used here in France, but I'll supply you the convertion to mg/dL too !

First and foremost, I'm a male and I'am 31 years old, 5,8 fts and around 175 to 187 pounds. I've been monitoring my triglycerides for a few years now and they've been roughtly around (3.50 mmol/L = 306.25 mg/dL) wich is a lot as you obviusly know... I've been trying to lower them naturally with the basics: consistent exercice (swimming, soccer, running and lately some jump rope and beginner calisthenics), eating whole foods, drinking less alcool (very little to non currently) and eaiting of course less sugar. It seems to be hereditary, my gradfather had the same problem (and multiples hearts attacks during his life dispite beign a good cardiologist).

Anyways... Few months ago I took a new blood test showing some good improvement where the triglycerides went down to (2.37 mmol/L = 207.38 mg/dL) wich is not optimal but I guess it shows a lot of progress in proportion. I decided to go see a new doctor with this results and she prescrived me 10mg of Atorvastatine every night for three months without hesitation.

So a have a few questions:

  1. What do you think overall about my situation?
  2. What do you think of taking Atorvastatine at 31?
  3. Do I have a reason to worry about it? I took my first pill last night and I'am already feeling a little odd, but I guess some placebo effect is not off the radar.
