Is it possible to be referred for a MEB while still undergoing medication trials and not yet medically stable?

Question

I’ve been in military mental health treatment for over a year for generalized anxiety disorder/major depressive disorder. I’m currently in outpatient care/IOP following a prior hospitalization for ideation.
I’m still actively in treatment and trying different medications, but I haven’t had a stable, long-term response yet. My doses have been adjusted several times over the past few weeks to months due to ongoing symptoms and functional impairment.
I understand treatment is ongoing, but I’m trying to understand how the process typically works in cases like this.
For those familiar with the military medical system:
• Is it common for a Medical Evaluation Board to be considered while medication trials are still being adjusted and not yet stable?
• Or is an MEB usually only considered after multiple stable and completed treatment trials?
I’m not asking anyone to predict my outcome—just trying to understand how this is generally handled in similar situations.
