Is Isekai style stories ruining future of series like Naruto?

Question

To start of I am a Game Development PM in life so I deal with a lot of overall narrative of games. So in a recent work research I had my team research the future of series like Naruto. It involved the team looking up the current trends of stories and what's being written in top fanfictions like YouTube.

Here is an interesting thing that popped up. How badly Isekai styles stories are badly being featured in Naruto fanfiction and one can even say the abomination known as Boruto.

If you don't know the basics of most Isekai in terms of character development it came be simplyfied as the following:

  • MC is Super OP for his verse from near start. Gary-Sue, Mary-Sue, Du Ex Machina, you name it, it is what he/she is.
  • The power scale is off the roof. Like everyone is trying to catch up to Superman/Goku. Basically a constant need to overpower rivals.
  • In Game mechanics/systems gets overpowered by MC being a know it all.
  • The world revolves mainly around the MC in the sense that Supporting characters are more like cheerleader/harems.
  • The story ends pretty much with the MC rulling over the said Verse like its god... If it gets there.

Based on these...

Do you think future series like Naruto and Naruto-verse itself is ruined by this new style of story writing?
