Tooth fairy fail
My daughter found out this past Christmas that Santa wasn't real thus figured out all fairies, elves, unicorns, leprechaun et all. But still asks for things from the tooth fairy and plays along with leprechaun traps...
Anyway lost a tooth yesterday. I misunderstood and gave her lip balm not lip gloss (I mean I had 30 minutes to figure it out on my way to drop off my other kid for sport practice to purchase said surprise). She woke up this morning and wanted to give it back. Not what she wanted. I was pretty upset about it. I am not sure exactly why but I was near tears (as was she) but I just sorta said something like "how about you just say thank you". I know I made her feel bad,. although I don't think overreacted but I'm upset she was so ungrateful.
When did the tooth fairy start giving gifts and not money you might ask? I think it was promised when I didn't have cash on me and gave a trinket instead.
But I am not sure why this in particular bothers me. Part of me is like why keep up the facade? And why does she think it's like an opportunity to ask for whatever she wants and then be disappointed when it's not the thing?
