Anyone else find it impossible to track earnings when you've got multiple income streams? Built something to fix it

Discussion

Been doing a few side things on top of my main job and every budgeting app I tried just assumed one salary. Useless when you've got money coming in at different frequencies.

Ended up just building my own thing. You add your main salary plus any side income — weekly, fortnightly, monthly, one-off — and it works out your real monthly total across all of it. Useful when you're trying to figure out if a side hustle is actually worth it after tax.

Also has a take-home pay calculator built in with this year's UK tax rates so you can see what any income actually nets you after tax, NI, pension and student loans.

Not trying to promote anything — just wondering if others have found the same problem and how you've been handling it. Spreadsheet? Just guessing?
