I know this is a common theme here but…

I am rewatching for the second time, currently season 3. I just wanna share the most disturbing shameless moments for me so far and hear yours out:

No particular order, just as I remember:

- Mickey being raped and beaten because his father walked in on him and Ian

- Mandy being used to being raped by her father when he gets super drunk and being impregnated by him. One of the darkest most horrifying ones.

- Karen raping Frank and sharing it online leading to her father’s suicide (also shows how little people recognise man being raped)

- Monica fucking them up for good at thanksgiving

- Jody raping Karen “so she would come back from the coma”

- Mandy running over Karen (I know Karen is a fucking bitch and I hate her too but it’s interesting the way the show was able to capture how violence and even murder is so normalised in certain realities)

- Karen making Sheila lose Hymie. And the way she treated Hymie in general, absolutely disgusting.

- Karen giving birth to Hymie.

These are the ones I can think about right now (again, I am on a rewatch and still season 3 although I do remember Liam and the cocaine scene)
But I find really interesting how throughout my watch of the show I get so used to the violence and disturbing reality they live everyday that things that normally would be considered horrifying are just normal. Frank shoving cocaine up his ass? Okay. Lip stealing a bunch of stuff? Fine. Jimmy being a career car thief? Sure. The amount of drugs, trash, dirtiness around the environment and how horrible the environment is for children and how those children are exposed on a daily basis to horrific things? Yeah okay I guess.
