County council - 2nd on panel, chances of securing position?

Hi all,

I working in private sector so not 100% clear on how public sector works.

I recently interviewed and was placed second on panel for a position in the county council but part of a shared national service (grade VII based on salary they didn’t specify). It was for a new role from what i understood but unsure if they will be adding multiple of this position.

What are the chances of being called up for another role. Or is it only that specific role I can be called for ?
