[Rolex Sub] pre 2010 or newer?

I’m in the market in buying a sub. I almost pulled the trigger on a 2000 era but with more research, i discovered the 2010 is more “bulkier” and fits better on a 7.25” wrist. Also heard that a pre 2010 sub feel/feels more “cheap” and isn’t close in regards to looks. Now I’m over thinking this whole process and back to square one. However, i do not have a way to try on a pre 2010 as there’s probably not one near Chicago land.

Anyone else have this issue? Tips, suggestions, opinions? TIA!
