Toronto sucks for the younger generation
(Starting this off with, yes I vote, yes I know to keep this anger rolling until the next election, yes I’m politically aware, etc.)
Both my parents are from Toronto but moved away before I was born, but I recently moved back here. Growing up, I heard stories of all the fun they had at the Planetarium and Science Centre for school trips, and their summer shenanigans at Ontario Place.
They’ve finally started tearing down the planetarium, and seeing the huge hole in the side reminded me that I’ll never get to experience that. The things that attracted me to Toronto that I hear my Torontonian friends talk about too, are things that I never had and never will get to visit. It’s frustrating seeing such well known landmarks that help educate the population be dismantled in front of my eyes, and not being able to do anything right now to stop it. Like really, what’s next? The CN Tower? How much of Toronto is going to be destroyed under this (PROVINCIAL not even municipal) government until the next election?
Living in the city, I miss the stars, and wish I could see them even if they were fake projections :(
