Umich winter semester or UMD fall semester??

Hi everyone, I've been mentally and literally committed to UMD for a long time now, but I also got into Umich for the winter semester and I'm still waiting for my aid package because I didn't turn some documents in thinking I wouldn't get in. I'm majoring in kinesiology pre-med so umich is #2 in the country and feels like the obviously better choice, but UMD also has a strong program as well and is much cheaper probably. However I've seen that Umich gives a good amount of financial aid to really low income families and figured that I could probably use some private loans to cover the rest and try to transfer to Rice after since they cover everything, or just transfer back to UMD if it gets too much to bear financially. I don't think it's a good idea to not try Umich at all but I don't knoww, I feel like the gap semester also allows me to work and save up for tuition and dorm stuff. Please help!
