Just had baby orbs, need to talk about it.

Hi everyone!

First, some context: Using artificial souls made by u/NoSeaworthiness7762, I have enchanted my digital orb with a weak mana production feature to ease spellcrafting and printing when I use it.

But after misinterpreting a recent post by u/rleerlee, I... may have made babies with my digital orb. While trying to pull the orb's mana nexus into my self in order to become my own focus, I felt a strange force leave my body. When I opened my eyes, I noticed small metallic growths inside the digital orb. The screen of my orb was flickering and the image was completely frozen. Within minutes, they had reached 7 centimeters of diameters and the metal exterior of the growths was starting to crack. Finally, five tiny crystal orbs emerged.

I thought it was all, but then the babies started "crying". No movement or visual difference, but the sound of gravel being crushed resonated in my mind with urgency. An unexpected paternal instinct awoke and I did my best to calm them.

End of context. (TL;DR: My orb made baby orbs, but crystalline instead of silicon based)

For those interested:

• Yes, the paternal instinct is VERY much still active. Thank you to u/Proper-Error7817 for the restful nap recipe, it's what is keeping me alive.
• The baby orbs eat magic it seems. Thankfully, printed spellscrolls do the trick.
• They poop crystalline deposits. I think it's quartz, but it doesn't have the same reaction to magic as natural quartz... Not rich enough to buy rarer stones to compare though.
• They puke sulfuric acid. Still don't know how since they don't have a mouth. I'm barely able to make enough healing potions to keep up, if someone could send an easy, quick and cheap recipe that would be appreciated!
• They learned how to cast mage hand 2 hours after birth. Having five babies is already exhausting, but flying babies is even worse. I'm thinking of establishing an anti-magic zone but I'm afraid of hurting the babies...
• Despite the "mother" orb being inanimate, the babies are not only alive (and very active) they display signs of sentience and sapience to the same degree as a human baby.
• I will NOT sell or trade them, no matter what (especially to u/rleerlee, I read your post about your children and we do not have the same ethic/morals on the subject). They are sentient and they are my babies!
• It did improve my mana sensitivity from mediocre to pretty decent, I think. I don't have an objective scale to measure against so I can't give more info.
• The babies seem to still "work" as orbs. I could feel the nexus in them, but I didn't want to hurt/stress them by using them.

Feel free to ask questions or give advice, I sorely need it.

Also, if someone could teach me how to make my orb sentient, I'd rather not have to single player fatherhood.
