Reed Richards Return Home Log 1

I'm going to fix everything.

I am Dr. Reed Richards of Earth-618.

Everything has gone disastrously wrong.

I suppose that is exaggeration on my part. But it is hard to maintain professionalism and optimism in the face of such truly terrible events.

To begin, I suppose the jailbreak went off without much problem.

We got in, got out, had to run from Annihilus’ forces, and managed to escape somehow.

That’s not where things went wrong, though we did lose some people to the Arthrosians.

No, things went wrong when Skkar-Lott, Char-Lott’s mother and a former Kree aristocrat, decided to save herself and her daughter before anyone else.

I’m not one to scold a mother for protecting her child. If I feared for the safety of my children, I cannot say for certain that I wouldn’t have done the same as she did.

The problem is that it left many of the others stranded. I wished to stay back and aid them, even if it meant my return home would become delayed, but they practically pushed me through the closing portal, telling me that my family needs me more than they do.

I agree with their sentiment. I just wish there had been more I could’ve done to deliver them from their plight.

Once through the portal, I found myself in a desert. Due to the fauna I have found, sparse as it may be, I believe myself to be in the Sahara.

I found Char-Lott, crying next to her mother’s body. It seems she was bitten by a venomous snake, most likely a horned sand viper, and passed away due to having no access to proper medical care.

I took Char-Lott with me, hoping to return her to the Kree Empire at some point. She appears tired and stressed. I can’t say I’m not much the same.

At the very least, however, we’re back in our own universe. I’m closer than ever to reaching home. I just need to get myself and Char-Lott to a safe place where we can get a ride back to New York.

I can’t wait to see my family again.

I hope the others still trapped in the Negative Zone can find a way out.

Dr. Reed Richards, Earth-618, signing off.
