Soak Day: do I need to worry about my tub?

Hi all,

Quite new to the sub, but wasn't able to find any (recent) info regarding my question.

If I plan on using my tub for Spa day - do I need to worry about the coating getting ruined?

Many many years ago (40+) a family member soaked her curtains in a whitening solution (no clue what it was) and it basically ruined the smooth finish of her tub and turned it completely rough - after that it was difficult to keep clean.
