Advice on buying a cheap classical guitar (~$1000 budget, possibly used)

Hey,

I’m looking to buy a classical guitar and my budget is maximum $1000 (I accidentally wrote $100 in my previous post).

I’ve played quite a bit of classical guitar, but only on a very low-end guitar, so I want to upgrade.

I’m considering buying used/second-hand rather than new since I’m guessing I might get something better for the price.

A few things I’m wondering about:

- What should I check when buying a used classical guitar?

- Are there any good brands to look for in the cheaper range?

- I’ve heard some people say you don’t want the guitar to be too shiny (something about finish or cheaper factory guitars?), but I notice that many entry-level guitars like Cordoba or Alhambra seem pretty glossy?

Any advice or things to avoid would be appreciated.
