First time taxpayer — need guidance.

Hi, I hope it’s okay to ask for some clarification here. I’m a first-time taxpayer working as a Contract of Service (COS) employee in a government agency, with a gross monthly salary of ₱44,428.

My senior told me na I need to file BIR Form 1701Q, and that wala naman daw ako tax due since hindi abot sa 250k ang salary ko and I opted for the 8% flat income tax rate, but when I tried filling it out in eBIRForms, it’s still showing that I have a tax due and now I’m really confused. 😕

Could someone please help guide me on what might be going wrong? Am I entering something incorrectly in eBIRForms, or is there something I’m missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
