Planning a month-long solo trip to Norway

Hello I’m planning a solo trip to Norway as a woman. Only been to Oslo. So far I have Bergen, Flam, and Lofoten: Å and near Knutstad. I’m an experienced traveler but will rely on public transport entirely. I mostly enjoy quint pretty towns and being near water /lakes, love nature and can do moderate hikes.

Seeking Recommendations/ Advice for:

- I’d prefer to start in Bergen(7-10 days) on September 1 then finish my trip in Å for 3-4 days on 24th for autumn colors and aurora. But not sure if Å would be the best spot to see autumn colors… Any other recommendations? For September I’m worried about the frequency of public transit and 🌧️

- Another option is to begin the trip around August 22 from Bergen to avoid 🌧️. Or do you think it wouldn’t make much difference?

- Would it be an issue to completely rely on public transport?

- Thinking maybe spending around 10 days at a hostel near Knutstad to meet people. Would 10 days be too much?

- What are your top 3 pretty towns in Norway that you’d recommend?

THANK YOU so much!!
