My first Mother’s Day, my MIL’s first Mother’s Day as a grandmother, and my mom’s first Mother’s Day without her mom.
I need some advice on how to have an stress-free Mother’s Day. Feeling a little overwhelmed already and like I won’t be able to enjoy time with my husband and son for my first Mother’s Day. My grandmother passed this last Christmas.. and mom will be alone as her husband will be with his kids out of state for a college graduation. My mom has asked me to visit my grandmother’s grave with her - not exactly ideal for my first time being a mom.. but I totally understand and was really close to my grandmother. I just don’t want to be sad that day. And I know that will make me and my mom so sad. It’s also my mother in laws first Mother’s Day as a grandmother. This is special I know. She waited a long time to be a grandmother and she is so good to our son. Both my mom and my spouse’s mom watch my son 1-2 days a week while we are at work. The in-laws live a little over an hour away, which kinda throws a wrench into a shorter visit. And my mom lives about 20 minutes away, but wants to go to the cemetery as well.
How do I navigate this tricky situation where everyone can feel loved and appreciated all while allowing me to enjoy it too?
Thank you in advance.
