1440 vs 4K

Im in the market for a new monitor. Ive been on 1080p my entire PC gaming life of 10 years.

My question is, for Star Citizen and general FPS/RPG gaming (Valorant, Souls series) would a 4k monitor be worth it? Would the higher frames of a 1440 be better? Is the difference worth the price difference?
