2026 Camry SE AWD vs Civic Sport Hybrid

Hey everyone, I’m graduating this month and moving from Florida to Indianapolis for my first full-time job. I’ve driven a 2009 Camry my whole life, so this will be my first car purchase and my first time living in a snowy climate.

I’ve narrowed it down to the 2026 Camry or the Civic. I like the styling on both, but I’m seeing mixed reviews online and haven't hit the dealerships for test drives yet.

The hybrid is a must, but I’ve heard the "winter tires are better than AWD" argument, so the AWD is less important (I think).

Camry SE: Stock hybrid, AWD option
Civic Hybrid Sport: ~2k cheaper, FWD exclusive

Both have comparable fuel efficiencies. Also, I’m a bit behind on tech with an ‘09 Camry, so any features are an upgrade (I don’t have keyless ignition/entry, backup camera, heated seats, lane assist, etc.). What are some modern staples I shouldn’t settle without (especially in the cold) and what are your thoughts on the two models?

Notes:
- I know the Accord is a more apt comparison to the Camry (and likewise for the Corolla and Civic), but I’m only looking at these two cars.
- I am buying the car in full, not financing.
- Thank you!
