Can’t seem to find a use for tiger 1 tank

Every time i select breakthrough bg for wermacht i think of the tiger as something i would maybe/eventually call in late game (not rushing it) but every time i waste my resources for that tank it gets hunted down by long barrel shermans and grants and i cant kill even one . Am i bad or is the tiger 1 not worth it? And is the command tank better?
