Is a 2016 BMW 320i Sport worth £9.8k when newer Yaris‑type cars cost the same or more?

I’m looking at a 2016 BMW 320i Sport (73k miles, full service history) priced at £9,855. It looks clean and well‑kept, but I’m struggling to justify it when reasonably new Toyota Yaris and similar models with decent specs are in the same price range.

On paper, it feels odd that a 10‑year‑old BMW with higher running costs sits in the same bracket as much newer, more economical hatchbacks.

Is the 320i actually worth it at this price, or am I better off going for something newer and more sensible?. I am 40 so looking for something comfortable and reliable. I am also planning to get click mechanic PPI as I dont know much about checking cars. Thanks in advance.
