How to make android auto use the phone's gps instead of head unit?

Hello, I've noticed that my head unit's gps sudden stop working, doesn't find any satellite, my suspicion is that somehow the antenna connector disconnected, but i can't open my car dash to check this right now... thats why im asking if i can force android auto to use my phone gps, it is possible?
