Is the EU probe into Azure/AWS actually going to fix our interoperability headaches?

Microsoft

I just saw this news about the EU DMA starting a probe into Azure and AWS as gatekeepers, and it honestly made me think of half the issues we troubleshoot here daily.

The probe is specifically looking at things like cloud lock-in and the lack of interoperability between services. From a support perspective, so many of the Windows 11 / Intune / Entra loops we see (like the PIN reset loops or "black box" sync errors) feel like they stem from how closed off these ecosystems are.

If the EU forces Microsoft to open up Azure/Entra more and play nicer with third-party tools or improve data portability, it might actually make our lives easier when it comes to troubleshooting migrations or cross-platform setups.

Has anyone else noticed that the troubleshooting documentation for these cloud-tied features has become increasingly cryptic? Maybe some regulatory pressure will finally force them to be more transparent about how these services talk to each other.
