A little girl was sitting and watching her grandmother brush her long hair.

After a few minutes, she noticed several white strands among the dark ones.

"Grandma," she asked, "why are some of your hairs white?"

The grandmother decided to use this as a teaching moment. "Well, sweetheart, every time you do something naughty or make me cry, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this for a long time. Finally, she looked up and said, "Wow, Grandma, you must have been a real terror to Great-Grandma! Her whole head is white!"
