Seeking advice on TDP 1.5 / 5 / 6 Tablet Presses for making sinking fish food wafers
Hi everyone! I’m planning to start a small production of sinking wafers for catfish and bottom feeders. I’m looking at the TDP series desktop presses (TDP 1.5, 5, and 6) and could use some guidance.
My recipe is a mix of fish meal, spirulina powder, and binders like agar-agar or bentonite. It’s a very fine, "dust-like" powder.
A few questions for the experts here:
Is the TDP 1.5 sufficient for producing high-density 8-10mm wafers, or should I jump straight to the TDP 5/6 for more compression force?
How do these machines handle slightly abrasive materials like fish meal?
For those making fish food: what’s the ideal pressure to ensure the wafers stay stable in water for at least 2-3 hours?
Any tips on maintenance or specific dies for fish food would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
