My Reply To A Redditor Comment PART 2
**Posted to save my response** after an OP deleted their comment, so Mods deleted my reply, and I don't want to lose my writing.

**OP's post below, with** more paragraph breaks, because I'm in a bad PEM crash and I need them, so I thought others might as well.
**I bolded** the beginning of my sentences for Accessibility, and bolded the information from OP that I thought was particularly relevant to their post.
**OP, I would say,** generally, from what you describe in your post is *not* Chronic Fatigue Syndrome | MECFS. The majority of your symptoms align with MDD to me.
Depression and Generalized Anxiety are *exhausting.*
**However,** it is possible to have both MECFS and Depression. It is not impossible. The 2 to 3 days needed to recover and return to baseline *could* be an indication of PEM, and PEM is a hallmark of (MECFS).
**I would say consult** a Family Doctor and ask about a referral to a Rheumatologist, Infectious Diseases, or | and Internal Medicine if you *really* suspect you could have (ME) CFS.
**But in the meantime, if you haven't had** blood taken in the last 3 to 6 months, consider getting your Iron, Thyroid, and Estrogen checked (again?); these are part of what is called a **Blood Count (CBC)** and **Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP).** I would try and get both the Count and Panel done.

**Is the chronic fatigue/depression the result of traumatic past?**
Hi, 28 Female here, who's been living with anxiety and MDD [Major Depressive Disorder?] for 10 yrs now.
**My body has become very fatigued,** feels heavy and hard to move.
**I grew up in a chaotic household** during childhood, with my mother having undiagnosed Schizophrenia, and my father with undiagnosed ADHD, who was emotionally negligent.
**Not a day was peaceful** with my parents since childhood; it would get to the point of physical violence between both of them.
**I tried selling** [getting] help from my relatives but nobody took me seriously.
**None of us knew** it was Schizophrenia, as the symptoms were mostly aggression and suspiciousness (no hallucinations yet) - until she started losing touch with reality around 2014.
**We got my mom's** diagnosis and treatment in 2015, so thankfully she's doing fine now with the medications.
**Right after things** were calming down within our family, **I gradually started getting severe anxiety followed by depression around 2017.** **I was diagnosed with Generalised Anxiety disorder and Major Depressive Disorder.**
**Before this happened,** I used to be a combat sports player (Taekwondo) and a dancer, very energetic and with high stamina.
**All of that just collapsed** and my body became sluggish since the onset of GAD and MDD.
**Not just that,** my ability to grasp and process info became very very slow - which made me fail in med school.
**Most of the time** my brain felt like there's a mental block + internal resistance. If anything slightly bad happens around me, I get affected mentally while my body got really sore.
**Even going outside for few hours gives me severe exhaustion, fatigue and sore muscles. It takes 2-3 days to recover for getting back to baseline functioning.**
**I've been put on** different Antidepressants and Anxiety meds, but none worked. Blood tests, vitamin and thyroid tests came out normal.
**All of these years** I somehow pushed it through with the help of frequent counselling from a Psychologist. But overall, I don't get to do anything at all regarding my academics and hobbies.
**Most of my energy goes** to just existing through depression, meeting my basic needs, and doing few chores.
**Weirdly, ADHD** (inattentive) symptoms started to show up from the past 2 yrs. To confirm, I did go to the psychiatrist and got diagnosed recently.
**I'm currently on Concerta 36mg,** which surprisingly made me feel relatively less depressed.
**Despite the medication** working a bit,
I still have the mental block which **prevents me from processing and retaining info along with constant body fatigue.**
**Does this seem like** Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or is it the affect of depression? Are there any other ways to get better?
**I really want to have energy** and be healthy to at least do things I love.
