Teen/YA book (2010s?): glam girl moves to country town, blog/newspaper, uncovers secrets
Sooo I think I read this book probably around 2015, but I’m not sure when it was released. From memory it was giving early 2000s/2010s. I’m pretty certain I read the bind-up edition (three books in one), and it was all around ~1000 pages long, and on the front cover I think was a close up of a brunette girl wearing sunglasses, and blowing glitter into the camera.
From what I remember about the plot, the female protagonists lived in a city, I think an American city like Manhattan. She was a teenager, popular, loved being “girly”, had a boyfriend, and the story started off with her having to move to a country town. I can’t remember why, but I think it was because her mum or dad got into a new relationship. I have a feeling she may have had a step sibling? And after she moved I think her boyfriend cheated on her - possible her own friend.
She was struggling to adjust to her new life, the small school, and I swear there was also a farm or cowboy-like culture she was struggling to adjust to as well.
But I think where she started to fit in was for a journalism or newspaper club? And I think that’s where she met the main male protagonist and love interest, but it was like an enemies-to-lovers pipeline. I feel like she did some investigating and solving mysteries for the newspaper, and ended up getting into a troubled situation… I swear the climax of the book had to do with a jock and a common US weapon of choice (idk if I can write the word here lol). And then the MMC saved her.
And I feel like the second book had to do with a circus mystery or at least there was a circus involved???
PLEASEEE tell me this rings a bell for someone!!
