I Plan To Adopt A Cat But I'm Allergic To Cats. How Can I Make Things Work Out?

I completed and submitted paperwork for an emotional support animal to my landlord. They prefer that I have a cat but I'm mildly allergic to cats. I plan to adopt a cat but how can I make things work out with the allergies?
