Why not make Bombsight the poster boy of the supes instead of Soldier Boy?

Bombsight seems to be exactly what Soldier Boy was propagandized to be. A better person who has true combat experience against the nazis. He actually seems to be one of the most heroic supes in the show, so why wasn't he the golden goose?

Bombsight is nearly as powerful as SB, and maybe even more durable. SB appeared to hurt himself punching him, when we know he can hit Homelander without a second thought. Add onto it that Bombsight can fly and was probably an actual WW2 pilot and it makes him seem to be the obvious choice. He also didn't fall in love with an actual nazi like SB.

Or is this bad writing because they didn't think that far ahead?
