Cassie’s Plan wasn't a "Deus Ex Machina": It was 2000 chapters of defying Fate
Many people are complaining about Cassie's plan, but let's break it down:
-
She has been preparing this plan for over 2000 chapters. Since the Chained Isles arc (revisit her conversation with Sunny right before he entered the Estuary), this wasn't something G3 pulled out of thin air to save her or force a plot twist.
-
It wasn't a coincidence that she evolved shortly before Asterion tried to lobotomize her. If she saw several possible futures, it’s clear that what she orchestrated wasn't going to end in the death she spent her whole life trying to avoid.
-
Asterion wasn't playing the cliché villain who talks too much and lets the protagonist win; he was systematically trying to break down her mental barriers to infect her. He needed to know where Nephis and Sunny were.
-
She achieved something even the seers of Eurys' people couldn't. They could see their predetermined fate, but they couldn't see a way to save their people, so they only planned for revenge. Note that when the Nine gathered, the Kingdom of War hadn't even attacked yet. Cassie saw a future that, in theory, was unchangeable by fate, but she refused to accept it.
-
Fate is still broken (Chapter 2981). I believe that there is no longer a 'future fate'—only Destiny. From now on, the tapestry will be woven solely by people's choices.
