Ubisoft Openworld Starfox?

I think the starfox game looks fairly solid but I’m somewhat surprised it’s a remake. Was I the only one thinking that the starfox battle for atlas DLC was a testing ground for a contract with Ubisoft to make a full openworld game starfox game? Like the blueprint, the engine was all there to be fleshed out. Having Mario and rabbids made me think Nintendo were open to these partnerships.
