The Obsessive Life

  1. People will hate, mock, attack, bully, blackmail, harass, threaten, admire, idealize you. Expect exactly that, mostly the negative ones. If you expect it, you won‘t be surprised when it happens. And it will. NOBODY will see you for who you are, they’ll only see what they want you to be.

  2. If you only communicate/show a piece of your obsessiveness, you will experience the consequences. You show other people’s limbic system what it hates MOST. What do you expect? Admiration? Forget it, get it somewhere else.

Find someone who roughly knows what you do and basically inhale them, crawl into their skin, become one.

Find someone that is enough for you to not seek others’ applause, because there will be none, and if so, it won‘t be real - they just love what they can‘t be.

  1. If you obsess over something, do it. If you don‘t do it, it‘s like slowly removing the oxygen in a submarine. You won‘t die immediately. It will be a painful death.

So pick your poison: embrace being mostly alone with your obsession - which is basically your god and you‘re the one expressing God and bringing him into the world - or slowly die trying to be a normal human without obsession.

It‘s actually not that complicated; you even have a choice.

  1. There is literally no „too much“ in being obsessive. You write for 15h/day for several weeks?

Okay. Normal. You listen to music every single second you have the capacity? Okay. Normal.

You write 25 books to find out something about yourself that therapy couldn‘t? Okay. Normal.

You learn how to golf with a private trainer on a simulator, buy absurdly expensive golf clothing, only to get into the golf club because you know you‘ll get connections or clients there? Okay, normal …

because there is no „too much“ in being obsessive. It is literally the definition.

Is water surprised that it‘s wet?

Is a lion surprised at sleeping 20h a day, then chasing an old but still yummy boar, then amusing himself with his whole gang? No.

Because it is normal.

So please, for the sake of the obsessive god: do NOT take others as a role model.

You swim with an unnatural accelerator under your butt, while others have their legs.

It is NOT the same.

Ignore what they do, look at your life, see what obsessiveness looks like, then double down.

Heard me? Don‘t you dare stop being who you are.

There is not an OUNCE of wrongness within you.

I know the world wanted to bend and change you and rip you apart only to set your pieces together like a goddamn Frankenstein monster of THEIR liking. So what?

Did you ever look at these people?

They HATE themselves. I mean it. They literally want to die. There‘s just this tiny voice in their head keeping them alive. That‘s their lifeline.

Your lifeline is the potential to become EXCEPTIONAL.

In fact, you already MIGHT be.

It just wants to be expressed, but it can‘t if you always think you have to fit in. Into what? Look at them. Yes, again. It‘s ridiculous.

What type of SUBSTANCE have these people brought into the world who want to push you into a Tupperware box? What? I‘m waiting.

The new salad recipe they tried last year for Christmas doesn‘t count.
