They don't need V1 in order to save Kimiko and Starlight.

It's a virus that kills it's host in 30 seconds. It won't kill them unless Kimiko and Starlight are in the same room when they release the virus, which wasn't their plan in the first place.

The virus might be highly contagious but it's not magic, once it runs out of hosts it will stop spreading. And the host only having a minute or less to spread the virus means that the virus will not spread very far.

Just quarantine them until the outbreak is over and then they will be fine.
