what do I do in this situation where my bf has me blocked bc I called him selfish
For context earlier today my bf (20) calls me around noon and tells me (19) he wants to talk to me in person today or so about the drive to florida from nj for our upcoming vacation. Our schedules don't entirely match up today so I thought it was pretty important, I was busy when he called so all I really said is to come to my house at 7 since thats when I get home from work; my boyfriend said okay.
We both work at an EMS that isnt too busy on separate days, where I live only 8 minutes away from. Most of the time it is just sitting around waiting for a call, so I thought he would able to make some time to talk about this oh so important conversation.
He calls me when HE gets out of work around 4 and I tell him again that I don't get out of work until 6:30, Ive had this same schedule for the past year fyi; but he's surprised acting like I wasn't busy and I tell him once again to come later.
Moving forward, Its 7:30 so I call him wondering like where is he. My boyfriend now says he's going to get food and he'll be on his way afterwards within 2 hours. My boyfriend also has this peeve of me "timing" him, which stemmed me asking what time he would like pick me up or be at my house and him always consistently being late.
So i'm like alright cool whatever because Im home doing stuff I need to do for an hour and I end up falling asleep for maybe 30 minutes. KNOWING my boyfriend, he won't call or communicate so I call him again mentioning how frustrated I am about this important conversation and cuss him out how he always does this shit and he's being selfish. I've tried talking to him SO many times that if he isn't able to come or is going to be late to send a text or call; which he never ends up doing.
My boyfriend then decides to tell me how it isn't that important of a conversation to have and tries to shut it down as he just got back from getting food at McDonalds. I initially didnt know what in specific he wanted to talk about, I just understood it was about the long commute. But now i'm getting even more angry bc now he tries to switch it up like he usually does and tbh the whole conversation starts escalating.
My boyfriend refuses to even speak over the phone now about the original conversation because even after he wants to eat he plans on having a conversation about whatever the fuck with another one of our coworkers at the EMS. Like bro we work the same job ik you have jack shit to do after eating dinner besides yap and watch TV.
He calls me a stupid idiot then swears on his whole bloodline that he will block me for the night if I continue to try and talk to him. My bf basically says "Say goodnight right now or else". So obviously me high on emotions and stubborn I keep asking him and now ive been blocked for the past hour.
It feels like more than half the relationship he doesn't prioritize shit and avoids any sort of responsibility or actual initiation. For example he will say lets go watch a movie, and then makes me plan when and where bc Im the one who remembers both our schedules.
I think it just leads me to being a bitch whenever things keep building up. Like one you pretend that this conversation is so important that we need to have it in person and then switch up, two you can't remember to communicate for shit and I ALWAYS have to be the one to properly follow up with you and then three you start threatening ME?? bc when I catch an attitude after your stupid repeated actions I can't hold in anymore. He's also just never present emotionally.
Sorry guys, I understand this is a very immature and emotional post, I can already expect some of the comments; some of the segments probably don't make any sense so don't hesitate to ask further questions.
Honestly though I just need help, I feel as though I have a lot of underlying issues with him that I HAVE communicated to him in the past and I see no changes which is CRAZY because we have been together for the past two fucking years. I don't want to break up with him, but sometimes I also think i'm driving myself crazy. Him too.
