Recommendation for Flowering Shrub near Foundation

Advice Request - (Insert State/Region)

Region - Ohio, 6b

I have a bed in front of my condo (north side) and I'd love to plant it with a flowering shrub. I have a bird feeder nearby, so I'd love it if it also supports birds, although just being pollinator friendly would be okay.

The bed is about 6-7' in both dimensions. It doesn't need to be that wide, although I'd love it if the shrub would reach a height of 5-6' min. to help fill in this area (there are no windows behind it. It's between my door and the neighbor's.)

The bed is part shade/receives afternoon sun. The soil is pretty clay heavy. Average moisture.

Plants that I'm considering/have considered so far (I'd love feedback or additional recommendations!):

- Itea virginica: gorgeous flowers, although I'd like something a little taller if possible.

- Black Chokeberry 'Autumn Magic': it prefers full sun/part sun; I'm concerned that it won't look good in part shade.

- Smooth Hydrangea: This one seems perfect, but it doesn't tolerate drought. I don't trust myself to remember to water it after the first year during peak summer heat.

- Pinxterbloom Azalea: does not like clay soils

Recommendations for plant nurseries are also welcome. Thank you!
