Baby sleeping on belly and rolling
Baby is 8 months and has rolled since 5.5 months but has started rolling around in bed and in her sleep since 8. She tries to sleep on her belly and has succeeded a few times. I am in a firm bed with one throw blanket and a pillow behind my back, between my knees, and under my head. I try to cuddle curl but often will end up on my back with my top half angled towards her for nursing and my arm around her. But several times I’ve woken up and she’s broken through my arm barrier when rolling and she’s away from me. Idk how long it takes me to wake up. We have bed railings so I’m not concerned of her falling I’m more concerned she’ll roll away and get comfortable and sleep on her belly with her face pressed into the mattress partially. I mean the mattress isn’t exactly breathable. And I think my body has gotten lax lately with making sure a hand is on her etc while I sleep. And it scares me. She’s not yet crawling but she pushes up really well with her arms and rolls great. I think logically I know she can get out of on her belly if needed but I’m worried what if she rolls onto her belly and then I cuddle her and without knowing it I then trap her onto her belly so she can’t breathe. If my baby makes any noises I’m instantly up my husband has seen it and says it’s creepy lol but what if she is silent in her struggle. Is it time to transition to the crib? How have yall gotten through this part?
