Pre med at Barnard/columbia

I recently got in as a transfer to Barnard and I wanted to know how the pre med life is. At my current state uni iv maintain a 4.0 pretty easily. I know Barnard is going to be a lot more work but is it worth going for pre med? I’ll be paying around 70k and I can afford it, but at my current school I’m paying 15k. I know I can have a high gpa at my current uni and I’m involved in research and other EC’s, but Barnard was one of my top schools. Everyone says that u should go to the school u can get a high gpa at, but I don’t like my current school. I don’t feel challenged at all and it’s so big, I feel like I don’t fit in. Iv heard Barnard has horrible grade deflation and their chem department sucks. At the same time I think being in NYC would be so amazing. Will going to Barnard give me leverage to getting into a good med school?
