I used python/ai to help me landed interviews, but it's too hard for others to use. Worth making into a real app to help others?
Disclaimer: This is not about mass application or low effort tools to flood the market. It’s actually the opposite.
Hey guys,
I spent bulk of my time last few months built a complex system that uses Openclaw/claude code to scrape for job, tailor my CV and track my applications. In the process of testing it, I got quite a few interviews and ended up with 2 offers and will start my new job soon.
I basically scraped linkedin/google jobs every day at 2pm, run all of them through an AI to score them against my profile out of 10. I only ever applied to the ones that scored 8+ (which was usually just 2 or 3 out of 50 per day). saved everything to a giant notion table to track it, then used an agent and some python magic to write a tailored cv for just those few jobs.
The strategy has worked for me (got many interviews), but it's completely un-transferable. I tried to set it up for my wife and she just got incredibly confused by the whole thing.
I'm thinking of building an actual web app with a real UI that does the exact same thing, but actually usable for normal people. Before I sink a ton of time into coding this, I want to get some real opinions on current job seeking challenges and if this approach actually resonates with people outside my own bubble.
Let me know what u think. Happy to explain my current python setup in the comments too if anyone wants to try making it themselves. I know many here also code professionally.
