How would the books change if Darrow were a girl? (for fun)

Darra o' Lykos heads off to the Institute. I've heard people saying a female Darrow would just be Eo if Eo survived but I disagree, I think there would be unforeseen consequences. Like would she still fall in love with Mustang?
