Coming June 1st: A New Cast Iron. Get on the Waitlist for the Limited Drop

Rough cast iron isn't traditional. It's a cost-cut.

Vintage cast iron — Griswold, Wagner, the pans collectors pay $400+ for on eBay — was machined smooth. That polished surface is why they cook so well and why they're still being traded 80 years later. Mass production killed that step in the 1950s because it was slow and expensive. Rough texture became the norm not because it was better, but because it was cheaper.

We built the Made In® Cast Iron line to fix that.

Every pan is hand-machined to a smooth, polished cooking surface. Pre-seasoned one by one with organic oils. Lighter in the hand without sacrificing heat retention. Poured, cast, and machined in the USA.

It's been in restaurant kitchens for months. June 1 we open it up to everyone else. First batch is limited.

Made In®'s Cast Iron is machined smooth. Every single pan goes through an additional machining step that produces a satin-smooth cooking surface and thinner walls for weight distribution. Better food release. More even seasoning. Easier to clean. We're bringing back Heritage Cast Iron.

It's lighter than you expect. We optimized wall thickness to reduce weight without sacrificing heat retention. You can actually maneuver this pan. Pour from it without a second hand. Use it the way a chef uses it, not the way someone who's scared of dropping it uses it.

The handle is different. We took everything we learned building our Stainless Clad line, which is used in professional kitchens across the country, and applied it here. Balance, grip geometry, heat management. It was designed to be cooked with, not sit as a weight on your stovetop.

It's made in the USA. Poured, cast, and machined here. Pre-seasoned one-by-one with organic oils before it leaves the facility. Not batch seasoned. Not outsourced. Each piece is individually finished.
