Research RN Salary

I am going into a 3rd interview for a research RN at a free-standing research center. I have over 20 years of experience in research, 32 years as an RN. I know they requested a 3rd interview due to my salary requests. I am asking for $17,000 less than I would make being in the hospital based on the hourly rate. Is that expecting too high for a center?
