T14s from eBay -Bios Lock?

I had a T14 gen 1 as my daily driver at work. I liked it, but it was a little heavy. I was laid off and have been using a five year old Dell XPS 13 with 8gb RAM and i5-1135G7 for personal and contract work but it is painful. I run two profiles on Windows 11, but switching back and forth is like playing the lottery….

I use Microsoft Office 365, Autodesk Fusion, Cura Print Server. I do minor photo editing. I’m not a gamer. Laptop is plugged into charger and running two 24 inch monitors 90% of the time. When I travel, I take it with me.

I’m sure the Dell issue is the 8gb RAM.

Looking to buy a T14s Gen 5 32gb, 1tb ultra 7 off eBay for $899. It has warranty until 2028, battery until October 2026. Do I need to worry about BIOS being locked or some other corporate lock? Should I bite the bullet and just buy brand new gen 6?

Most the eBay folks have 99 or 100% satisfaction with hundreds of thousands of sales….
