Is a Police Criminal Record Certificate from Taiwan required since Germany does not officially recognize Taiwan?

Hi all, I submitted my STAG 5 declaration last summer and included certificate of good conduct from the Netherlands (where I'm currently living) and planning to get an FBI rap sheet when I go back to visit the US later this year (born in the US and a US citizen).

However, I also lived in Taiwan for approximately 1.5 years, so my initial assumption is that I would need a Police Criminal Record Certificate from there as well since it was longer than 6 months, but that would obviously be a bit more of a pain to get. As I was thinking about it more though, I'm curious if anyone knows if it would be required since Germany does not officially recognize Taiwan as a sovereign country?

In the end I imagine that it'll be up to the BVA/whomever my case officer ends up being, but obviously it'd be nice to be able to be proactive if I can to speed things up, or just not to worry about it if it's not needed.
