We have 5 cats and my allergies are getting worse.

Yes, I know that is a stupid number of cats 😆

I will skip that story.

We had cats before I knew I was allergic. I have kids and a husband and everyone adores our cats.

However, my allergies are getting worse each year. It was mostly watery, itchy eyes, constant drainage, and headaches (i am headache prone anyway). But now my skin is breaking out in an itchy rash with exposure as well.

I know it will not magically get better.

But I am also wondering, how do I just rehome 5 cats we've had since they were kittens??

And even if we do get rid of them, I understand it takes a lot to remove the allergens. So will it even make a difference?

Help me to see the decision clearly. What is the best path forward? I take an antihistamine and a nasal spray. My life is too chaotic right now to commit to shots but I may do that at some point in the future.
