AITAH for picking a friend of mines second choice name?

So a friend of mine had her baby a few months ago. When she was in the process of picking names she had narrowed it down to 2 names, John and Sam (fake names to remain anonymous). I was not pregnant at the time. I found out I was pregnant several months later and I was watching the rodeo at a bar, my friends like to drink I was not drinking obviously I was pregnant, I saw the name 'Sam' again and decided that I really liked it so I put it on my list of names. I did not know the gender yet so I had not settled on any names. Several months later I found out I am also having a boy and the name 'Sam' had been one of my favorites, to the point where I could not imagine naming him anything else. So I settled on the name along with my partner we decided it was definitely our favorite. We have mentioned the name to several people and everyone loves it. My friends boyfriend (baby daddy) works with my husband. At work he mentioned in an off hand joking way that "we stole his name." To add context my friend and her boyfriend do not plan on having anymore kids they have told people this so its not secret. I am hearing this second hand from my husband also. He says he really was joking and didnt mean anything by it. But I am Autistic and tend to overthink social interactions and social norms and I am wondering did I really do something wrong? Should I have asked them first if it was okay?
