Youtube pushing right wing (socially conservative) thoughts from a leftist lens?

I have an admittedly biased YouTube experience. My algorithm pushes documentaries, science videos, space, and of course Bachelor Fantake and the ilk, often from a "let's save the world... or at least think about it" perspective.

Recently, I have noticed YouTube recommending videos I would never watch or videos I would not have a vested interest in. For example, the videos are pushing way harder for family values by sharing content about being a SAHM or not working remotely because it will "ruin your career". I do not have children, nor do I usually engage with this content, so I do not know why it is being recommended to me.

In addition, "libertarian" videos have popped up talking about how regulation is the enemy of the economy and whatnot. Which is such a mischaracterization of the issues of today and it is way more complicated than that.

To balance it all out, I'm getting WAY too many videos about pop culture proportional to what I watch.

It really seems like the algorithm is trying to distract me from real life problems and it's getting harder to find YouTubers who are *actually* talking about what's going on.

Am I crazy? Is it me?
